My colleagues Saba Yousefi, Niloufar Sohi , and I created LyreIran in 2021 as a collaborative space where we create educational opportunities and contents for string players across the globe. With our collective backgrounds in performance, education, and research, we have made valuable professional connections throughout the years, and have been able to access a wide varieties of educational resources. We hope to create events, classes, workshops, masterclasses, and other educational opportunities for students around the world; especially those who might not have access to these valuable resources. To learn more about LyreIran and our activities please visit our website (coming soon) or our social media platforms.

During the course of my doctoral degree I became curious about viola literature composed by the composers of the Iranian Diaspora and conducted extensive research regarding the existing repertoire.

I was also able to commission multiple pieces for solo viola and viola and electronics by these composers. My research expanded in what is now my doctoral dissertation document, a recorded album of various works (for solo viola, viola in a small ensemble, and viola and electronics)

which was published in June 2022, an article for the Journal of the American Viola Society, multiple performances at AVS festival, and other venues across the DC area, and lectures and workshops at institutions such as University of Maryland, Towson University, Lebanon Valley College, and the American University.
